School board's tutor fees under fire 'It's simply a parent's choice,' says education minister
Tutoring is a business that feeds on the fear some parents have that their children won't succeed, says one York Region parent. This comes as the debate continues over whether or not the York Region District School Board should be offering a traditional private sector service -- after-school tutoring at a fee of $190. For the price, the service provides 16 hours of extra help in literacy and math to students in grades 4 to 6.

(Aurora, ON) - Veteran MPP Frank Klees intends to run in the new riding of Newmarket-Aurora in the next provincial election scheduled for October 4, 2007. The local provincial PC association has called a nomination meeting for this October 4 where Mr. Klees, the only declared candidate, will receive an acclamation.

Empower Police to Shut Down Street Racing
(Queen's Park) Oak Ridges MPP Frank Klees tabled legislation today to shut down street racing. The Street Racing Bill, 2006 which received First Reading today will empower front line police officers to issue on-the-spot licence suspensions and vehicle impoundments to drivers they have reason to believe were involved in street racing.
