Frank Klees bids for Ontario PC Party Nomination in Newmarket-Aurora

Veteran MPP will be acclaimed October 4

(Aurora, ON) - Veteran MPP Frank Klees intends to run in the new riding of Newmarket-Aurora in the next provincial election scheduled for October 4, 2007. The local provincial PC association has called a nomination meeting for this October 4 where Mr. Klees, the only declared candidate, will receive an acclamation.

The new provincial riding of Newmarket-Aurora was created from a recent province-wide redistribution of riding boundaries that will see four new seats added to the Ontario Legislature including one from York Region.

This is not the first time Frank Klees will be running for provincial office in Newmarket and Aurora. Mr. Klees represented both towns from 1995 to 1999 as the MPP for York Mackenzie, a riding that included Aurora, Newmarket and King Township at the time. Following a boundary redistribution in 1999, Mr. Klees was subsequently elected MPP in Oak Ridges, the riding he has represented ever since.
